New York Diary & City Guide.
New York Fashion Week is always a whirlwind, but no matter what season, it is an amazing time that leaves me feeling super inspired and excited.
This season I saw so many amazing shows-some of my favourites were Zimmermann & Monique Lhullier (so cool to see the dress that Emma Stone later wore to the Spirit Awards), as well as the Alice + Olivia Presentation - the white on white outfit stole my heart! Of course the J.Crew Presentation was so much fun, too...I had the chance to meet two fashion icons, Nick Wooster and Jenna Lyons and the collection!! I fell in love with the pink sweater & pink shades look, and the fringed skirts are definitely on my fall wish list.
Between shows & presentations I absolutely love exporting the amazing city of New York! I put together a City Guide of some of my favourite spots last season, and wanted to share a few of the new places & events I discovered this time around:
Bites
Sullivan Street Bakery - 533 W 47th St- Incredible soup & bread, amazing sandwiches, fantastic coffee and unbelievable cookies-also just has a great ambiance and is definitely a local favourite.
Tisserie- 870 7th Ave-Cool space, delicious coffee & pastries and offers some savoury bites if you are on the go as well.
Sarahbeth's-40 Central Park South -Yes this was in the last city guide, but it is one not to miss, offering amazing breakfast but also serves a mean burger & fries.
El Mitote - 208 Columbus Ave-Corn tortillas, refreshing margaritas & fun artwork, this is a perfect sport for a casual yet delicious lunch!
Magnolia Bakery - 200 Columbus Avenue at 69th Street-Cupcakes, cookies, brownies and more in the cutest little shop! Perfect place to stop to pick up a hostess gift, the packaging alone is worth a visit.
Sights
Eugene O'Neill Theatre- 230 W 49th Street -Going to a show on broadway is unlike any other experience...this time I went to The Book Of Mormon(highly recommend, hilarious!) and the Eugene O'Neill theatre is stunning, one to visit no matter what is playing when you visit.
Love Sculpture - 1359 Ave of the Americas-You will probably end up walking by the Love sculpture during your visit, but it is so cool to see in real life after seeing it in so many photos & movies.
Chelsea Market - 75 9th Ave -Fun to walk through, the Chelsea market has some fun spots to check out including a Sarabeth's, a delicious fresh pasta restaurant (you can also buy takeaway)and a beautiful flower stall.
SoHO-Shopping Heaven! Between Isabel Marant, Alexander Wang, ACNE & Opening Ceremony (as well as the brand new Michael Kors Flagship store that has a pool table & hang out area, perfect to entertain those in your party not as keen to shop!) it will keep you busy, and offers great little spots to grab a coffee or a bite including, of course, LaudurΓ©e.
I am already making my list of what I want to see next time I visit New York...that is why it is one of my favourite cities, it is a different adventure every time you go!
