Experience Transat with Air Transat + Grand Velas Los Cabos
I love Mexico so much...The people, the food, the culture, the sun! It is so beautiful, so I was so excited to team up with Air Transat to spend a week exploring Cabo in the Baja California Sur staying at the most gorgeous hotel, Grand Velas Cabo.
Flying direct to your holiday destination instantly makes the trip more relaxing, and Air Transat offers a direct flight from Vancouver to Los Cabos, so in just a little over 4 hours, Kiara and I went from winter to summer, just like that! We also had such a smooth time checking in (We were lucky enough to be Priority, so no line up to check in or check our bags, and we were allowed 2 checked bags each with our tickets, so it was so easy!) We also got to pre select our seats which I always love, because I am an aisle girl and Kiara loves the window seat, so it was a treat to be able to choose the seats we wanted.
The team Air Transat greeted us upon arrival, along with the driver from Grand Velas, and we were whisked away to the hotel moments after stepping out of the airport.
The instant we stepped into Grand Velas Cabo, we had our breath taken away! The architecture of the lobby (and the entire hotel) is just beautiful, with an amazing view right though the lobby to the ocean. The furniture and decor was also super cool - Modern and minimal with really outstanding art pieces (Cabo is known for amazing artwork, they have an art walk in San JosΓ© Del Cabo on Thursday evenings, I highly recommend, the art is fantastic!)
From there we were taken to our suite, and things just kept getting better! Grand Velas offers Wellness Suites, and Kiara & I were lucky enough to find ourselves staying in one. They are huge two level rooms with the top level offering gym equipment (including a recumbent bike, yoga mats, weights and a gym ball as well as an entire channel with pre-made workouts on the TV that you can follow along to have a private workout or yoga class!)
The Wellness Suites also have private decks with a hot tub and an amazing view of the ocean. My favourite part about the suite were all of the thoughtful details that came with the room - For example we got to choose fresh juice to be delivered to the room each morning, and each evening the Spa would deliver a special treatment that they had created for us, for example, after our first evening it was a special scrub & cream for after sun care...another night it was a rose clay face mask, and another a rejuvenating sugar scrub - So nice!
When we first arrived we also got to choose what type of aromatherapy we wanted during our stay, so we chose lavender for the evening and the amazing staff at Grand Velas would set up our diffusers with the scent every evening so we could come into our room and instantly relax.
The list of the perks for this suite go on and on - We also received massages every other night, and had a personal, private yoga session each morning. It was, to say the least, relaxing!
We were there during the Grand Velas Wellness Retreat as well, so there were nutritionists & fitness experts on site offering cooking classes, exercise classes, Meditation among other things - There was a plethora of activities to take part in to feel relaxed, rejuvenated & re-energized! It was really refreshing to stay at a hotel that encouraged health & exercise to the guests, as so often as hot destination hotels you can forget to take care of yourself during the time that you are there and go home feeling more exhausted than when you arrived!
The hotel also had the most gorgeous infinity pool overlooking the ocean, with the most amazing staff that I have ever experienced! Kiara and I spent the week living on fish tacos & guacamole by the pool and everyone took such great care of us.
The restaurants at Grand Velas are also spectacular. When Kiara & I decided to peel ourselves off of our sun loungers, it was time to eat! We especially loved the Italian restaurant, Lucca - But they were all so different & delicious, we were definitely never hungry while at the hotel. We also took advantage of the all inclusive aspect and had a few deliveries to our room (yes, more guacamole & tacos!) It was so nice to be able to sit on our own private deck and enjoy really excellent food.
Air Transat worked with Grand Velas to also arrange a trip to La Paz to swim with Whale Sharks - It was unbelievable (photos to come from that adventure) We also got to explore Todos Santos a little bit as well after our swim - It was so nice to get picked up & dropped off right from our hotel to experience such a cool trip - Grand Velas Cabo offers a huge list of cool excursions that you can go on, from snorkelling to whale watching to going to Lover's Beach & visiting the famous Arch to going off roading in the back country - Anything you could imagine!
The week was a dream, and I am so grateful for Air Transat for making the trip possible and to Grand Velas Cabos for hosting us - It was the most relaxing, luxurious trip and now I can't wait to go back & visit!
More to come from Cabo,
xo
