Thailand Diary :: Intercontinental Koh Samui

Thailand Diary :: Intercontinental Koh Samui

Thailand is one of my all time favourite spots to travel...I was lucky enough to visit almost 12 years ago now for a couple of months, and during that time I just fell in love, so of course I was so excited to travel back to one of the biggest islands in Thailand (and where I spent Christmas all that time ago) in Koh Samui.

My first stop was at Intercontinental Koh Samui, a breathtaking resort in Baan Taling Ngam area which is surrounded by jungle but located beachside, which makes the best of both worlds!

Stepping into the lobby took my breath away - The view of the vast Gulf of Thailand is a must see from the huge inside/outside space that welcomes you to the property.  While we stayed in a beachside villa (that offered an amazing sunset view) it was so fun to explore the grounds that were dense with trees and plants, and even had a suspension bridge that truly made it feel like wandering through a grown - up tree fort.

One of my favourite parts of the resort was actually the dock- it was the best spot to jump off and swim, and there were tons of fish right there, making for a perfect, easily accessible snorkelling spot.  I also loved the tiles throughout the resort - they were just beautiful! The photo here is in the Amber Restaurant, and the Pad Thai there is definitely not to be missed. Another must do if visiting the resort...the Baan Thai Spa - Just the space alone is worth a visit, it has amazing views and again, beautiful tiles inside - and of course the treatments are heavenly!

Much more coming from Thailand & Bali, stay tuned!
