Watching the sunset over the Golden Gate Bridge is just so magical!

Did you know that the Golden Gate Bridge is named “Golden Gate” (odd because it is red) because of the Straight, the narrow between the Pacific Ocean & San Fransisco Bay ~Two years before the Gold Rush which started in 1848.

Another cool fact about San Fran? There are dozens of ships buried under the city because in the 19th century, the water line was different than it is now, and new prospectors for the Gold Rush arrived on boats and abandoned them at the edge of town. They ended up just building the city on top of the boats as the city grew so rapidly during the Gold Rush. So cool!
