Scottsdale has an amazing area called Paradise Valley that is exactly that...Paradise! It is surrounded by mountains, including Camel Back Mountain (it actually looks like a camel laying down, and is one of the best hikes in the area) and we headed to Sanctuary at Camelback Mountain Resort that is nestled in Paradise Valley for our third night in Scottsdale.

The grounds are just stunning, and with an infinity pool with a view of the valley, it is a wonderful place to stay and relax (they also have 5 tennis courts, a wonderful gym and so many classes including yoga, cycling, pilates & barre classes that is also makes for a great place to re-energize) Their spa is also not to be missed...when you go make sure to request the outdoor sanctuary, a private area set up for couples massages (but would be fun with a friend too!) and has massage tables as well as a hot tub and outdoor shower outside. It was the best massage I've ever had, you can't beat listening to the birds and the wind move through the trees as you are getting a massage - heaven!

After feeling rejuvenated and relaxed, we headed out the next day on a horseback adventure with Fort McDowell Adventures and it was such a fun way to see the area...we even got to plunge through the Verde River, it was such a wonderful experience! Just seeing the ranch is worth the visit, too - it is stunning, it really looked like I had stepped into the Wild Wild West.
